Proof. PCGS Very Choice New 64. This is an extremely rare bank, and we are not aware of any issued notes. The bank supposedly had a maximum $250,000 capital authorization when it converted to the Milwaukee National Bank in April 1865 and likely redeemed all of the circulation. This India paper proof mounted on original cardstock is from an early series with Capital $150,000 engraved on the plate by Toppan, Carpenter, Casilear & Co., New-York & Phila. At the top, Commerce reclines at the shore holding a narrow spyglass. An elaborately framed oval portrait of a woman is below at the left. The only other example known is the Krause-Bookbinder-Wismer India paper proof that sold for $2,530 in September 2009. Noted as \"Hole Punch Cancelled\" and \"Mounted on Cardstock\" as made. A well-balanced and handsome proof. Ex: Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society\n\nRealized $1292.50. Newman VII (Heritage Auctions, 10/2015), lot 18731.
