This is another very rare and fascinating note from the intriguing title. The layout and diagnostics are similar to the 6 ? cents. A wide format note printed by J. Oram, New York. Payable at three locations as noted on the top border: New-York, Albany and Whitehall. The specific merchants are listed in the obligation text across, below the \"37 1/2\" and textual denomination. Along the bottom is the clause, \"Receivable on board lake Champlain Steam Boats.\" Oddly, it has a Rarity 6 rating in Harris's New York scrip reference, which is too liberal. Noted with \"Stains,\" but a full note with ample margins all around. The slightly finer example in Newman Internet 3 realized $705.
