A rare and very early St. Louis order exchange or warrant that was payable \"out of any Monies in the Treasury, appropriated for ...\" In this case it was for \"County tax money.\" A partially printed form on thin, translucent paper. The imprint is at left: \"Printed at the Office of the Missouri Advocate.\" MISSOURI is in a cartouche in the right end. Issued to Essex & Hough, bookbinders and booksellers. Signed by the president and clerk, and countersigned on the plain back by payee. Noted with some \"Minor Ink Erosion; Small Repairs.\" The left end is indented, and the sheet margins are broad, particularly at the bottom. There were only four of these issued notes in the Newman Collection, and this is the last available. Ex: Eric P.
