City of Jefferson, MO - State of Missouri (Missouri Defence Bond) Act of November 5, 1861 $100 10% Coupon Bond due January 1, 1865 Jan'y 1, 1862 Cr. 61A. Fine to Very Fine. A second Cr.61A $100 three-year bond, but with a different signature combination, in well above average grade. These are difficult to find. Like the previous, printed on cream paper, without printer name (style of A. Malus) by John Douglas, who was an engraver and lithographer located at \"10 Camp St. N.O.\" (seen at the base of the vignette). The style is as on the last with Missouri Arms at right, titles to the left, and obligation below. It has a bright red \"$100\" protector and an embossed seal. Written date. No. 12. Signed by Tho. Murray as commissioner and countersigned by C. F. Jackson. Complete, with five $5 coupons underneath. Untrimmed, and wide at the bottom under the coupons. The seal is not as strongly embossed as previous, and there is a small puncture in the top margin over the frame. It has some petty back paper remnants.
