He has a full beard and mustache.  He's leaning toward the woman, and appears surprised.    The horse is in the background behind him.  The woman is seated on the ground, sideways to the viewer, with her feet out before her and her hands behind her, with a piece of rope trailing down.  She's wearing heeled shoes, and a long white dress with short sleeves and a high neck, as in late 1890s/early 1900s style.  Her dark hair is in an updo.
