G. Wodehouse's Thank You, Jeeves.  Scene is in a living room, with chair, desk, and framed pictures on a wall.  A musical instrument is on the chair.  It appears to be a banjo, but is called a banjolele in the story. Two men are in the picture.  The man on the left (Bertie Wooster) is dressed in dark pants, white shirt and dark tie, with a dressing gown on over that.  He has taken an aggressive stance, leaning toward the other man, waving his hands in the air, getting his hair slightly mussed, but managing to keep his monocle in place.  The other man (Jeeves) is remaining calm and unflappable.  He is formally dressed in striped grey trousers, dark cutaway coat, white shirt with wing collar, and a dark tie.  His hair is perfectly in place, and, while he is leaning away from the first man, his expression remains calm.  The caption reads;  \"If it is really your intention to continue playing that instrument,\" said Jeeves, \"I have no option but to leave.\"  The Wooster blood boiled over.  \"Then leave, dash it!\"  This is from a 1934 Cosmopolitan Magazine, but couldn't find which one."},{"label":"Medium","value":["2 color prints (prints) [AAT]"]},{"label":"Date Created","value":"D:00 M:00 Y:1934"},{"label":"Image View Type","value":"Periodical Illustration"},{"label":"Image View Description","value":"p.35"},{"label":"Title","value":"Thank You, Jeeves"},{"label":"Copyright Status","value":["In Copyright - Educational Use Permitted"]},{"label":"Collection Name","value":["Walt Reed Illustration Archive Tear Sheet Collection","Dowd Illustration Research Archive","Walt Reed Illustration Archive"]},{"label":"Link to Finding Aid Record","value":"https://aspace.wustl.edu/repositories/3/archival_objects/280076"},{"label":"Publish Country","value":["United States [LCNAF]"]},{"label":"Collection ID","value":["DIRA-00019"]},{"label":"Collecting Area","value":["Dowd Illustration Research Archive"]},{"label":"Genre Form","value":["Graphic Design and Illustration","Tear sheets [AAT]"]},{"label":"Style Period","value":["Commercial Modernism"]},{"label":"Cultural Context","value":"Popular American Culture"},{"label":"Copyright Statement","value":"<a href=\"https://rightsstatements.org/vocab/InC-EDU/1.0/\"> This Rights Statement can be used only for copyrighted Items for which the organization making the Item available is the rights-holder or has been explicitly authorized by the rights-holder(s) to allow third parties to use their Work(s) for educational purposes without first obtaining permission.</a>"},{"label":"Type","value":["Still Image"]},{"label":"Date Notes","value":"1934"},{"label":"Metadata Status","value":"Not Reviewed by Metadata Services Staff"},{"label":"Link to Catalog Record","value":"http://archon.wustl.edu/index.php?p=collections/controlcard&id=776&q=walt+reed"},{"label":"Visibility","value":"Full access (No downloads/view only)"},{"label":"Download Restrictions","value":["Full Asset PDF","Metadata","Original item(s)","Transcript"]},{"label":"Creator","value":["Flagg, James Montgomery"]}],"description":"Thank You, Jeeves","sequences":[{"@type":"sc:Sequence","canvases":[{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/washu/iiif/5cfd8dbf-43ce-47e8-9173-a5a9a96a3354/canvas/_1","@type":"sc:Canvas","label":"Thank You, Jeeves","height":7115,"width":5016,"images":[{"@type":"oa:Annotation","motivation":"sc:painting","resource":{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/washu/iiif/5cfd8dbf-43ce-47e8-9173-a5a9a96a3354/full/full/0/default.jpg","@type":"dctypes:Image","format":null,"service":{"@context":"http://iiif.io/api/image/2/context.json","@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/washu/iiif/5cfd8dbf-43ce-47e8-9173-a5a9a96a3354","profile":"http://iiif.io/api/image/2/level2.json"},"height":7115,"width":5016},"on":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/washu/iiif/5cfd8dbf-43ce-47e8-9173-a5a9a96a3354/canvas/_1","metadata":[]}],"thumbnail":{"@id":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/washu/iiif/5cfd8dbf-43ce-47e8-9173-a5a9a96a3354/full/500,500/0/default.jpg","@type":"dctypes:Image","height":500,"width":500}}]}],"thumbnail":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/washu/iiif/5cfd8dbf-43ce-47e8-9173-a5a9a96a3354/full/500,500/0/default.jpg","logo":"https://iiif.quartexcollections.com/washu/iiif/logo"}
