PCGS Very Fine 20 Apparent.  An extremely rare late note from this bank that is rated Rarity-7 (2-4 known) in the Austin Sheheen specialized reference. Interestingly, the serial number of this Newman Collection note is \"66,\" only two away from the Sheheen plate note. The engraving and presentation by the American Bank Note Company are outstanding. At top center, a well-detailed bald eagle is curiously perched on two branches. A little girl holding a hen and chicks is at the left end. Seated Plenty holds a shield showing a cotton plant at the right end. Striking vermillion color devices include dual \"X\" protectors, arced TEN under the vignette, upper counter surrounds, ovals around end vignettes and TEN base dies at the ends. Noted only with some \"Mounting Remnants on Back,\" which do not affect the face vibrancy and sharp printing. We sold one example of this elusive type, a PMG Very Fine 20, in the 2011 FUN auction for $3,220. An outstanding South Carolina Obsolete banknote boasting rarity and immense style. Ex: Eric P.
