PCGS Very Fine 35 Apparent.  The symbolism of Jefferson's image used on this issue captures the spirit of the Louisiana Purchase made less than two decades before. This is an attractive example from the Murray, Draper, Fairman & Co. engraved series signed by Auguste Chouteau. The common styling shows the iconic themes designed and engraved for the sole use of the bank. Generally, each denomination uses different positioning of the vignette or differences in lettering or obligation details. The common vignette shows a bust of Jefferson at the shore with a capped liberty pole behind. Barrels, crates, sacks, bales, and beehives are at the shore. Four ships are at sail in the background. At the horizon are mountain peaks, with the radiant sun rising. On this variety, the vignette appears at top center. Above it, the name appears straight across as JEFFERSON (as opposed to some of the other denominations). Numeric counters are at each side near the top. Intricate end panels show cartouches. The perpendicular denomination is at the left, and MISSOURI is at the right. Grading notes only \"Minor Stains.\" A solid example and exceptionally well margined. Ex: Eric P.
