This is from an interesting issue of notes that make direct reference to \"Tobacco\" on the plate left of the arms.\" Flooding had caused the destruction of much of that crop, and this issue was to pay for that loss. This is from the last Virginia series using this size and layout. W. Rind's imprint is at lower right. We know of no other genuine bills from this enactment; Boyd had only a 5-pound counterfeit representing the date. Signed clearly by Peyton Randolph and John Blair. A solid note from this period of Virginia currency issues. Trimmed inwards, but evenly, around the perimeter.
