PCGS Fine 12 Apparent.  Another issued note rarity from Massachusetts. Most notes were redeemed and replaced by Nationals. The bank operated from 1854 until it became the Miller's River National Bank of Athol, charter number 708. That Worcester County bank was organized on Dec. 15, 1864 and entered receivership on Aug. 4, 1933. This Danforth, Wright & Co. note has a red tint plate and deeper tinted central protector devices. The \"figure-eight\" Cyrus Durand patented device used at the bottom center is unusual and appears on only a few banks. We handled a $3 note from the series, PMG Choice Fine 15 with 2 small HPCs, at $1,265 in 2011. Grading notes the following: \"HPC; Mounting Remnants and Scuffs on Back; Edge Splits, Tears, and Damage.\" Ex: Eric P.
