PCGS Very Fine 25.  This is a very rare engraved series of notes by Draper, Toppan, Longacre & Co. Though listed and priced in Haxby, no illustration is offered there as proof its existence and this is the first we have encountered of the extremely rare $20 type. The bank issued two series of notes. One had a branch payable line on the face. This note is from the other series, without a payable line on the face and a different vignette structure. This elegant note features an identical image of a train carrying cargo and passengers above and below the \"20\" counter at left. At top right is an \"XX\" counter in a large oval; above it, an eagle with spread wings stands on the global projection. To the left is seated Commerce holding a sheaf of wheat. To the right is standing Liberty holding a capped liberty pole. The lower right corner has a \"20\" counter. The blank back has an official endorsement, allowing it to act as a branch payable note, \"Redeemable at the Citizens Bank of Louisiana.\" It is endorsed by Nichols as the cashier, and also on the face as a note signer. The extraordinary grade is remarkable, and only one other note from the issuer was slightly finer, the $50 branch line payable style Norman Collection note we sold for $4,888.
