PCGS Extremely Fine 40 Apparent.  The Newman Collection notes from this issuer are among the best we have encountered. This is a choice $1 warrant from the American Bank Note Company, New-York. Here the \"1877\" is engraved and the \"May 1\" is stamped. The green frame and protector grill are still bold and vibrant. At the top, the vignette of the steamboat KANSAS CITY is flanked by \"1\" dies. Franklin sits at his desk at lower left, book in one hand, seeming to engage the viewer. A beautifully engraved vignette of a girl holding a spaniel, The Pets, is at lower right. Plate A. No.14937. The \"Small Edge Splits\" noted by grading detract little from this lovely example.
