Remainder. PCGS Fine 12.  This series of California scrip notes is a mystery and not to be confused with the Miners Bank that issued gold coins. An expensive, intaglio plate was engraved and printed by Gavit & Co., Albany. The plate was configured with one $1 note, one 75 cents note, three 50 cents notes and four 25 cents notes, with each denomination in a different size. This note, the smallest, shows a diminutive vignette of a steamer flanked by \"25\" counters under the title. IN GOLD DUST is prominent at bottom center. Textual denominations are in both shaded end panels. This example is Plate B of the four positions. Fully issued notes are not known to us-only remainders or notes that are falsely filled in. We consider this also to be falsely filled in. The other 25 cents from this issuer in the Newman Collection, graded PCGS Fine 15, realized $1,997.50 in the April 2015 Part VI sale.
