PCGS Fine 12.  This is one of only two issued Pynchon Bank notes we have seen. Danforth, Wright & Co. engraved the primary plate, and proofs are known of that style. This has an added \"ABC\" monogram and was used for this issued note with a color protector. A train spewing black smoke travels west at the top; the edge of the vignette just slightly encroaches on a large, red \"1\" protector. Numeric counters are at lower left and upper right corners. At lower right, in an oval, is a portrait of a blacksmith with a sledgehammer on his shoulder. There is some faint tone to the paper, but uniformly, and the note is solid and attractive.
