A contemplative Native American (adapted from a Benjamin West painting) is seated in the Ruins of Jamestown (from the painting by Chapman). This vignette is flanked by Washington at left and Marshall at right, as is the case on all denominations in this series. Printed by the American Bank Note Company from the Rawdon, Wright, Hatch & Edson plates. A green tint plate with darker protector details was used. Ex: Eric P.
