At right, seated Liberty with an eagle and stars and stripes shield holds a Liberty pole; the cap impinges on the arced MISSISSIPPI above, in the area of the second I and third S. (This is a device common on other issues from this title, where Hope's hair, Minerva's helmet and Agriculture's hair ornament encroach on the state name). \"Cross-Cut Cancelled,\" and noted with \"Hinge Repaired Cancellations; Hinge Remnants on Back.\" Very pleasing from the face.
