Remainder. PCGS Very Fine 20.  This series of notes is a mystery and is not to be confused with the Miners Bank that issued gold coins. An expensive, intaglio plate was engraved and notes printed by Gavit & Co., Albany. The plate was oddly configured with one $1 note, one 75 cents note, three 50 cents notes and four 25 cents notes, each in different sizes. This note, the second lowest denomination, shows  seated Agriculture at the far left. The title is at the top with a central \"50\" counter, and \"IN GOLD DUST\" is prominent at bottom center. The textual denomination is on the right shaded end panel. This example is plate A of the three positions. This denomination is very scarce, encountered much less often than the 25 cents notes, and has several excellent corroborating sales records. The Ford Collection had three examples. The two primary notes sold at Ford XX in October 2007 for $4,313 (Choice Very Fine) and a slightly lesser example realized $2,300. A third example sold earlier in Ford VIII (January, 2005) for $2,760 in Fine. This note is certainly close to or on a par with the Ford notes. This is an historic Gold Rush series note. Ex: Eric P.
