Proof. PCGS Very Choice New 64. This is another very rare Beloit bank, and it is known to us only as proofs or rare unissued remainders. All have superb layouts with the excellent vignette style often seen on Danforth, Wright & Co. notes. Boldly inked and printed on India paper mounted on original cardstock. In the agricultural scene at top, a farmer sharpens a grain cradle. At the lower left, in an oval floral frame, a milkmaid rests her arm on her pail. Intricate upper corners use the Cyrus Durand patented technology. The Krause Collection sales had only archival remainder $1 and $10 notes from this bank; it had no proofs. The $5 proof had the best layout from the series and a Chief Joseph Brant vignette. Graded PCGS Gem New 66PPQ, it realized $3,055 at the Newman Part VI sale in April 2015. Noted as \"Hole Punch Cancelled\" and \"Mounted on Cardstock\" as made. A rare and beautiful proof. Ex: Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society\n\nRealized $1527.50.
