Remainder. PCGS Very Fine 30 Apparent.  The 1893 bank crisis spawned the printing and issuance of this rare note. According to Shawn Hewitt, this was an agricultural concern of Charles A. Pillsbury. This attractive example, from the Northwestern Lith. & Pub. Co., Minneapolis, is the Hewitt plate note. The face shows a variety of shades and gradations of gray. The back boasts deep mauve color and vignettes relating to the Minnesota state seal and motto; North Dakota is also represented at the left and South Dakota in the center. The Hewitt book designates this as a remainder. The two signatures are engraved on this example. Despite the noted \"Minor Edge Damage at Left\" and \"Pinholes,\" an appealing example and the plate note. We have handled one other, the Shafer-Sheehan reference plate note in January 2016 which realized $352.50 with flaws and pen cancels. This is in much superior condition and catalogs for $1,000 in the Hewitt book in Very Fine condition. Ex: Eric P.
