General wear, but still very good or better.       One of the rarest 19th-century U.S. numismatic periodicals. The first complete set to be offered since the 1960s was in Part IV of the Harry W. Bass, Jr. Library sales (Kolbe, 2000), where one sold for $3500 hammer. Mason's various periodicals are all well worth reading, and contain much commentary on the numismatic scene not to be found elsewhere. His \"History of the Recently Discovered Confederate Silver Half Dollar,\" remains one of the more important articles here published, and would have been of obvious interest to Eric P. Newman. Many of Mason's more casual articles are amusing and quite charming, and paint a vivid picture of collecting when (so to speak) the world was young.  Estimate $1,500. Ex: Eric P.
