This vignette was originally engraved for New England notes, but the Native American motif would have appealed to frontier bankers, and it was also used by a few Midwestern banks. John Eliot preaches as he stands at the center of an attentive council group. At the lower left are drovers, and at the lower right is a female portrait. Noted with \"Small Edge Tears; Missing L.R.
