PCGS Fine 15.  The Kilby Bank was extremely short-lived and, despite its failing quickly, the notes are rarities. Like so many banks in this period, this has the New England Bank Note Co. imprint. A nautical theme is featured. A large eagle, with wings partly outstretched and an anchor beside him, stands watchfully at the harbor  At lower right, a seated man rows a sailboat past a bridge as two others stand by. A lighthouse is seen in the distance. Excellent condition for a rarity like this note. This example is superior to that plated in the Encyclopedia, credited to the American Numismatic Society, and not available for purchase. This Newman Collection note will be revered by its new owner.
