PCGS Fine 12 Apparent.  This is an amazing Louisiana private scrip note from Lafourche Parish. Thompson was apparently a private exchange broker and likely served as banker-financier in the area. Printed on white paper, with all blue inking, and without an imprint. A very nice layout is within pattern borders. The title is well placed in the center flanked by small denomination cartouches; the obligation is underneath. At the top is a very diminutive building vignette, and at the bottom a tiny vignette of a steamboat. End panels are very distinctive with ONE DOLLAR facing outward contained within floral ornamentation. Very boldly signed, dated and numbered. Noted with \"Tape on Back; Minor Rust Stains,\" which, considering the big picture, are meaningless when taking into account the eye appeal and immense rarity.
