PCGS Very Fine 20 Apparent. This is the sharpest printed example of this historically vignetted note we have seen. Though a contemporary counterfeit, the plate is well made. It copies the Underwood, Bald, Spencer & Hufty original, which is known only as a proof (there was one example in the 1990 American Banknote Company Archive sale). At top center, Columbus raises his sword aloft upon landfall. The left end shows a tall standing female in classical dress, and at lower right Justice is seen with an oval portrait of Washington. Noted are some hard to see and trivial \"Edge Tears.\" Ex: Eric P.
