St. Louis, (M.T.) - Bank of Missouri $3 Undated (Ca. 1819-20) MO-30 G18a. PCGS Extremely Fine 40 Apparent. A Bank of Missouri $3 note from the Newman Collection's date and signature variety studies. This plate variant is observed with \"bearer\" engraved on the second line. The note is signed, numbered, and has its payee written in. The same layout and style by Murray, Draper, Fairman & Co. used on this series. The Jefferson bust vignette is at top center, and intricate end panels have \"THREE\" left and \"MISSOURI\" right. This plate variety has the obligation, \"...promise to pay____or bearer on demand.\" Plate A. No. 5079. Signed by Louis Bonpart as cashier (though not dated, this note was signed circa 1819-20, based on Bonpart's term of service) and Aug. Chouteau as bank president. Noted with \"Small Edge Tears and Minor Damage.\" A very crisp note, but a small chip is off at top center due to the brittle paper. The printing clarity and signatures are excellent. Ex: Eric P.
