Proof. PCGS Very Choice New 64.  This is a very rare Waukesha bank, regardless of denomination. The plate was originally prepared by Wellstood, Hay & Whiting, New-York, with a $1A-$1B-$2-$3 configuration, for the Milwaukee City Bank series. After printing those proofs, it was altered for use by the Forest City Bank, Waukesha, as represented by the Newman Collection proofs and the archived proof sheet at the Wisconsin Historical Society. Printed on India paper and mounted on its original card. Farmers load hay from the wagon into the barn's loft in the center vignette. A large \"1\" growing vines is at the right end under a ONE counter. A red protector ONE is at the bottom center. In addition to the Newman Collection proofs, there are a few low-grade issued notes from the bank. The $2 proof from the series, PCGS Very Choice New 64, realized $3,995 at Newman Part VI. The $1 A position proof graded like this realized $1,468.75 in Newman Part VII. Noted as \"Hole Punch Cancelled\" and \"Mounted on Cardstock\" as made. This exhibits the exemplary Wellstood styling and lovely condition. Ex: Eric P.
