He attended the University of Wisconsin 1946 to 1948.\n</p><p></p><p>Employed as assistant editor for Coin World 1962 to 1974; editor of World Coins 1964 to 1974; editor of Numismatic Scrapbook Magazine 1968 to 1974. He started working for Krause Publications in 1974. He was the editor of the Bank Note Reporter after October 1983 and World Coin News. He retired from Krause Publications August 31, 1984. Served as vice president of U. S. sales operations for the Pobjoy Mint 1985 to 1998. Active in Wisconsin Republican politics.\n</p><p></p><p style=\"text-align: justify; line-height: 11pt\">He was one of the founders of TAMS and editor of the <i>TAMS Journal</i> 1962 to 1963. He is credited with coining the word \"exonumist.\" He served on the Assay Commission for 1973. Served as director for the NLG 1974 to 1978. In 1982 he created the Coin of the Year Award.
