Mayers & Bro. - Payable in Multiple Locations 50 Cents Jan 9, 1862 Rothert 234-14. PCGS Very Fine 25.  A 50-cents note from this Mayers & Bro. issue which was payable at four, not five locations. Similar to Rothert 234-7. Printed on brown paper with pattern ends and ornate borders at the top and bottom. Plate D is at lower left, and the date is engraved. Three payables are across the top: Stirman & Dickson, Fayetteville; White & Hanley, Van Buren; F. H. Nash, Ft. Gibson. Along the bottom is J. M. Smoot, Denton, Texas. No red Mayers ink stamping appears on either side. The top is unevenly cut, but mostly full. With superior paper and fine penned signatures. Ex: Eric P.
