To date, only six reported survivors are known of this scarce Friedberg number. The note was payable at the Cincinnati Treasury Office and with no \"for the\" varieties known to collectors, it is the scarcest of the different locales engraved on the 1861 $5 Demand notes. This Fine 12 is the highest graded at either service. There was a report of a higher grade piece over 30 years ago, but it has yet to resurface. PCGS has assigned the Apparent grade for \"Small Edge Splits and Tears,\" which are present but of little to no importance on a note of this rarity. The colors remain wonderfully strong and both signatures are well applied, dark and fully legible. Friedberg states that, \"the green reverses of the Demand Notes are the origin of the term 'Greenback' as applied to U.S. paper money in general.\" An important opportunity for anyone attempting a Friedberg number set or a collector with a simple appreciation for extreme rarity.
