This is one of the most dramatic (and unknown) doubled die varieties in U.S. numismatics. The coin itself, the 1876-CC Trade $1, is difficult to locate in any condition, and this spectacular doubling on the reverse makes it even more collectible. Note the strong doubled wing, branches, berries, leaves, etc. The \"900\" is also doubled as is much of the other lettering. THere are only two specimens of this rare variety that have been reported, one in Mint state, and this coin, and EF-40/40.
