Proof. PCGS Choice New 63PPQ.  Madison, as the state capitol, was a busy financial center with several banks. This is a rare \"State Capitol\" title with mostly proofs known to us. The beautiful series of India paper proofs was engraved and printed by Toppan, Carpenter & Co. on a $1-$2-$5-$5 sheet. This denomination shows a Native American man on a hill overlooking a scenic river. The same vignette was used on the $1 notes of Beaver Dam's Mercantile Bank and the What Cheer Bank of Providence, RI $1 type. A man carrying long corn stalks is at the lower left.  Noted as \"Hole Punch Cancelled\" as prepared at the engraving company. This exhibits only some minor wrinkling and has a Gem appearance. Ex: Eric P.
