(2), vii, (28), 467, (1) + (2), 558 pages; very large finely engraved linen-backed folding frontispiece map of the Eastern seaboard and inland, from Virginia to New Hampshire, British Army routes hand-tinted; finely engraved armorial dedication vignette; superbly engraved large folding \"View of St. John's, upon the River Sorell, in Canada, with the Redoubts, Works, &c.\"; engraved folding \"Section and Plan of a Block-house\"; finely engraved plate of \"An Indian Warrior\": finely engraved folding \"View of a Saw Mill\"; finely engraved large folding \"View of the West Bank of the Hudson's River\"; finely engraved large folding view of the \"Encampment of the Convention Army\"; 4 well-engraved plates depicting both sides of four Continental Currency notes: a July 22, 1776 $3.00, a Nov. 2, 1776 $6.00, a 14th January, 1779 $50.00, and a 14th January, 1779 $65.00 note, with one of the signatures on each printed in red ink and with two fronts hand-tinted. Larned 3692: \"the first eight months spent in and about Quebec and Montreal give good detail on the conditions and sentiment in Canada.\" Howes U.S.iana 226: \"Capt. Anburey served with Burgoyne, but this account of his travels was largely plagiarized from Burnaby, Smyth and others.\" Nevertheless, Anburey's account still remains a fascinating narrative on America by a British officer.
