Rivers), Banker \"Promise to Pay\" 25 Cents Undated (1862). Remainder. PCGS Choice About New 58PPQ.   Another third rare remainder note from the C. Rivers, Banker series. This is similar to the layout of the 5 and 10 cent remainders. Printed on white bond paper by A. McClean lith. With simple text and obligation across the note and an ornate numerical die in the center. In green undertint are a Seated Liberty with rays quarter reverse at left, large \"25\" protector widely spaced and over the die, and 1860 quarter obverse at right. The green left end outlines a white TWENTYFIVE. The legal obligation states: \"I PROMISE TO PAY BEARER without defalcation or discount when presented in sums of one Dollar or its multiple.\" Not dated or signed. There is only some faint handling. Missing from the major collections surveyed and the first we have cataloged. Ex: Eric P.
