Mayers & Bro. - Payable in Multiple Locations 25 Cents January 5, 1862 Rothert 234-7. PCGS Very Fine 35 Apparent.   A distinctive fourth series of Mayers & Bro. notes which was payable at four, not five, locations. Printed on brown paper with pattern ends and ornate borders at the top and bottom. Plate D appears at lower left, and it has an engraved date. Three payables are across the top: Stirman & Dickson, Fayetteville; White & Hanley, Van Buren; F. H. Nash, Ft. Gibson. Along the bottom J. M. Smoot, Denton, Texas. No red Mayers ink stamping appears on either side. Noted only with a \"Paperclip Rust Stain at top Left.\" Beautifully framed and deeply printed. The clip impression is seen on the back only. The face looks like an \"as printed\" example. Ex: Eric P.
