PCGS Very Fine 35 Apparent.  A scarce note with an unusual style from the bank's final series. The powerful red tint at the ends is the first feature noticed on this gorgeous example. The original plate was engraved by Toppan, Carpenter & Co. with an added \"ABC\" monogram. At top center, Mechanics and Commerce are at the shore. They are flanked by \"1\" counters; the title and denomination are below. An unusual ONE protector is configured with the \"O\" over a backward and forward \"N\" over an \"E\" oriented the same as the \"N.\" Numeric counters outlined by the red are at both ends. At the left, this counter is combined with an arm and hammer motif, scrollwork and a denomination block. At the right, oval framed allegorical females are at top and bottom with the New York bank seal at the center. This has a noted \"Hinge Repaired Edge Split at Top Right.\" A bold note. Ex: Eric P.
