The first of this Missouri River community's two banks; their early notes are actually far more common than the later issues, making it no surprise that the Newman holdings include a trio of First Charters along with a high grade $5 Brown Back. Four Original $5 notes are now known from this bank, but it remains a very scarce type from the state of Missouri, with only 22 pieces reported from all banks in Missouri combined.
