Despite a mintage of 4,500,000 pieces, the 1902-O Barber dime is surprisingly elusive in Mint State grades. The obverse of this MS62 example reveals rich toning in a number of shades, including red, orange, blue-green, and olive-green, with a streak of gunmetal-gray crossing the center. A thin die crack extends from the D in UNITED, through the cap, toward the second S in STATES. The reverse exhibits minor strike-throughs and a small die crack. The center is gray and gold, while large portions of the rim reveal pink, red, orange, and olive-green hues. Census: 16 in 62, 56 finer (9/13). Ex: Eric P.
