MA-160. PCGS Fine 15 Apparent. After the copperplate notes, the next several series of Revere engraved and printed notes were the \"Sword in Hand\" types issued across four dates. The faces showed text in a large cartouche and a small vignette at the lower left, varying by denomination. The backs used the iconic patriot wielding a sword, presenting an impressive image on the money during the period. Most genuine \"Swords\" are low grade, but they all have historic charm and many have interesting plate subtleties. This full-size example is a bit mottled. Noted with \"Center Split Tape Repaired,\" which is seen on the back. A rare low denomination type used heavily for change. Ex: Eric P. Newman Numismatic Education Society\n\nRealized $705.00.
