Lexington, MO - Farmers Bank of Missouri $2 Aug. 1, 1862 MO-15 G14b. PCGS Very Fine 25. This is one of the best $2 notes of any variation we have ever seen from the bank. The color is vibrant over very clean surfaces. Another type engraved by the American Bank Note Co. Philada. A large red \"2\" is over the plate position and serial number line. The farm scene at top left shows a very large cow in the foreground and a mill with waterwheel turning in the distance. Right of center is a dog and safe vignette, and a bare-shouldered woman crowned with laurel leaves is at lower right. A vivid red protector outlines the white TWO 2 TWO at bottom center. Plate A. No. 8450. We believe this was the finest Wismer was able to locate, and it has been the Newman Collection type note for over 75 years. A problem-free example with perhaps a century of illustrious pedigree built in. This is a gorgeous ABN printed type.
