Glasgow, MO - Western Bank of Missouri, at their Bank in Glasgow $10 Oct. 20, 1859 MO-70 G34a. PCGS Fine 12 Apparent. Another extremely rare note from this St. Joseph-based bank, issued from the Glasgow branch. There is one reported in Haxby, which may be this example. Including the $10 branch proof sold in Newman Part VI, acquired in 1939 from Wismer, there are only few notes of this design type known. Printed by the American Bank Note Company. The wide transportation vignette at top center shows, from the foreground to the background, riders and horses, men in a canal boat, a train traveling west, and a steamboat traveling east. The title, counter surrounds, and \"X\" protector are in red. The lower corners show a young woman's portrait at left and a farm woman feeding chickens at right. Plate C. No. 4697. Noted as \"Stained\" and with \"Hinges on Back\" by grading. This example is uniformly toned, but quite solid. This represents the bank and series well. Ex: Eric P.
