PCGS Extremely Fine 40PPQ.  A scarcer series of notes from the well-known bank payable in New York City. The style is classic 1830s period, with the top vignette of Mercury (as Plenty) about to share his bounty with seated Commerce, who gazes up at him and holds out her hand; behind, an eagle holds a banner in its beak. That vignette, signed at the bottom by George Hatch and Freeman Rawdon, is flanked by \"X\" dies on shaded lathe work. The Michigan coat of arms is at left center between two \"10\" dies. An allegorical female holding a capped Liberty pole and cornucopia is at the right end above a \"10\" die. Fully issued and a sharp example. Ex: Eric P.
