The painting for History Instructing Youth by William H. Low that inspired this design is still hanging in the Bureau of Engraving & Printing in Washington, D.C. Both pieces are true works of art and it is no wonder this design ranks No. 7 in the Whitman-published book, 100 Greatest American Currency Notes. Both Martha and George Washington appear on the back. Vibrant color and original embossing are found on this lightly handled example. Noted with: \"Edge Repair at Top Right of Center; Small Edge Tear at Top Center.\" The faults are more noticed from the back, and this example faces up well. Ex: Eric P.
