Proof. PCGS Very Choice New 64 Apparent.  This lovely India paper on card proof was engraved by the local firm of Packard, Gavit & Co. Albany. In an oval at top center, a seated allegorical female at the shore symbolizing Commerce, Navigation and Hope gestures to the ship sailing in the distance. Block \"2\" counters are flanking, and \"II\" dies are on scrollwork in the top corners. A young shepherd is at lower left and a milkmaid at lower right. Noted with \"Minor Rust Stains,\" which are pinpoint spots overwhelmed by the bright, fresh impression. Extremely rare. The only other proof of this type we know of was in the Lucius Ruder Collection and sold again much later in the Ford sales. Ex: Eric P.
