Proof. PCGS Gem New 66PPQ.  This extremely rare bank authorized only $5 and $10 notes from Hillsdale. An India paper proof engraved and printed by Danforth, Wright & Co. with deep, full red color tint across the note. The lighter red lace tint across the note outlines two perpendicular script FIVE protectors flanking the vignette. Micro-lettering is across the signature blocks. Cows make their way through the water in the center vignette. A farmer wearing a wide-brimmed hat is in an oval at lower right. Noted as \"Hole Punch Cancelled\" as made. We only known of one other $5 proof, the example that was on the Krause-American Banknote Company Archives sale sheet sold in September 2009 at Stack's.
