PCGS Fine 12 Apparent.  The \"Tithing\" storehouses, another class of scrip used in Utah, were redeemable in merchandise, meat or produce; not to be used as money, as specified in the obligation. The Salt Lake City types are the most encountered, except in choice condition. The St. George Stake Tithing Store House is among the rarest and most desired of all Mormon note issuers with very few notes known. There are two substantial auction records to back its revered stature. We sold a 5 cents graded PMG Very Good 8 for $10,638 at our 2010 Boston ANA Signature auction. The April 2008 Smythe Schingoethe Part 14 sale had a 5 cents example, Very Good with a corner off, which realized $14,950, which is likely the record price for any Utah \"Tithing House\" scrip. It is likely there are less than five notes from the issuer in private hands. Printed on white rag paper by Gast St. Louis & N.Y. The style is similar to the Salt Lake City General Tithing Store House notes. Beneath the beginning of the curving title, a beehive with busy bees sits among the flowers. A pattern border is all around. The die in the center shows the textual denomination outlined by the background.  The obligation \"Good for Produce, Live Stock, and Merchandise\" is at lower right. The stamped date is in large letters. The printed back shows a fruitful grapevine in the center. The obligation text is in the corner. Exceedingly rare and one of three known to us. Noted with \"Edge and Internal Splits and Tears.\" This is a complete 10 cents note from one of the rarest series of Mormon currency.  Ex: Eric P.
