Like the previous two, this is an India paper proof mounted on original card by Danforth, Bald & Co. Philada. & New-York. The left end grouping is similar to that on the $1 denomination, but wider at the left, with the factory building more noticeable and the complete sledgehammer visible. The mechanic is behind a sailor and the two women representing Education and Home Industry (a combination of different elements that seems to show an extra pair of knees). Moving left to right in the central area, a wharf is in the left foreground with a port city, lighthouse, and mountains in the distance; symbols of commerce, navigation, mechanics, and agriculture are in the middle, serving to unite the urban and rural ways of life; and a farmer, oxen, and dog stand near Ceres and a reclining allegorical female. Noted with \"Paper Toned; Minor Edge Damage.\" There is a small intentional cut-out across the center. The most attractive of the three card proofs, and also extremely rare. Ex: Eric P.
