UG51. PCGS About New 53.   The 1874 War Claims certificates were issued to veteran and civil servants claiming debts due from the State, with those funds being guaranteed by the Federal government. However, due to the dubious nature of many claims, the Missouri Constitution was soon amended to repudiate war debts by revoking the Act of March 19, 1874. The military-style certificates were printed by The R. P. Studley Co. Lith. St. Louis. Green tinted and with the green security back showing the Act. The state arms bisect the title at top center, and standing America is at the left. The payee, regiment, date, and amount were written in. An available type and colorful. Ex: Eric P.
