PCGS Fine 15 Apparent.   A second $5 note, plate C, which has a plate variation compared to its companion \"B\" plates. At the upper right, the engraved \"and\" below the merchandise is farther up, intersecting the ground lines. Style and designs are similar to other denominations in the series. The Jefferson bust vignette at top center has JEFFERSON straight across (not arced), and intricate end panels have \"FIVE\" left and \"MISSOURI\" right. In the obligation, \"bearer\" is engraved. Plate C. No. 1580. Signed by John Dales as cashier and Aug. Chouteau as bank president. Noted with \"Edge Tears; Mounting Remnants on back.\" Face soiling is moderate, and the faults are generally confined to the wide margins. An interesting variant observed by Eric with access to several examples over the years as evidence. Ex: Eric P.
