PCGS Choice About New 55.  Confederate notes from seventh series enacted on February 17, 1864, are the most available. The Confederate $500 is a very popular Civil War note and was last issued at Montgomery in 1861. Printed uniface by Keatinge & Ball. The full red color tinting contrast well with the black inked portions. The emblem at left displays the Confederate flag and motto DEO VINDICE, and Stonewall Jackson is at lower right. Plate A. Serial number 37320. This is the scarcest tint variant and has always been popular in all grades. The margins are excellent on this note and the deep red color superior.
