TN-12 $20 March 25, 1815 \"Act of February 24, 1815\" Remainder. PCGS New 62PPQ.  This is another superb type note and the design elements, though in character, are in a different layout. Most diagnostics are as seen on this series. Engraved and printed by Murray, Draper, Fairman & Co. on watermarked UNITED STATES bond paper with color security threads. This is the Plate B example. In banknote size, it now shows the eagle with wide-spread wings at the upper left with TWENTY curved just under the sunburst rays instead of across. Standard intricate end panels with TWENTY DOLLARS in an oblong cartouche, with the one at the left showing the denomination larger and in white text on a black background. The obligation is across and the engraved date centered. The $20 7% interest bearing note, as seen here, is very rare, much more than the $5 and $10 notes. Listed as Hessler X83D. The ex: Blanchard trio sold at Ford Part VI provided the most recent source of these Remainders. Those notes were slightly imperfect and this note is arguably, conservatively graded when factoring the sheet alignment reality and the perils of rough cutting. Our last significant offering of Treasury Notes goes back to 2005, ancient history in regard to the increased interest and demand for these notes. A more recent example, the Stack's Bowers $20 sold in November 2012 realized $14,950 (adhesive cited on the back by PMG, but our inspection did not confirm it).
